In the photograph, Scott Jones is embracing his girlfriend Alexandra Thomas as riot police stand on either side of them.Thomas had been knocked over by one of the policemen’s shields, and Jones got down in the street to comfort her. The iconic photograph was taken Wednesday night, in the midst of riots that took over downtown Vancouver after the Canucks lost the series’ deciding game to the Boston Bruins.
